Vietnam Agarwood Association Promotes Cooperation with Philippine Partners

The Philippine expert delegation highly appreciates the quality of Vietnamese agarwood, and simultaneously expresses their desire to cooperate in technology transfer, raw material region development, and trade promotion between the two countries.
The Vietnam Agarwood Association recently welcomed and worked with Mr. Edwin Glindro, former leader of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), along with experts and business owners operating in the agarwood sector in the Philippines.
Receiving the delegation were Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu, Vice President of the Vietnam Agarwood Association, and Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tùng, Chief of Office of the Vietnam Agarwood Association.
During the meeting, the representative of the Vietnam Agarwood Association provided a general overview of the development potential of the domestic agarwood industry; the capacity of Aquilaria tree plantation regions; agarwood-inducing methods; processing procedures as well as the product ecosystem currently being researched, produced, and brought to market by Vietnamese enterprises.
Notably, the delegation was introduced to the Multiple ULL agarwood-inducing technology along with various product lines crafted from Vietnamese agarwood such as essential oil, agarwood incense, agarwood bracelets, handicrafts, and products serving daily life, culture, and beliefs.
Through discussions and directly exploring the products, Mr. Edwin Glindro and the Philippine experts highly appreciated the quality, fragrance, and value of Vietnamese agarwood. The delegation also took interest in the applicability of agarwood-inducing technology on Aquilaria trees, plantation management procedures, and the prospects of forming an agarwood value chain in a stable, transparent, and sustainable direction.
The Philippine side expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnam Agarwood Association and domestic enterprises in many fields, ranging from technology transfer, technical exchange, raw material region development to product processing and market expansion.
Both sides also discussed the possibility of connecting the business community, organizing field survey programs, trade promotion, and introducing agarwood products in each other's market. This is considered an initial step to promote cooperative relations between organizations, experts, and enterprises in the Vietnam – Philippines agarwood industry.
The representative of the Vietnam Agarwood Association affirmed that the Association is ready to act as a bridge, accompanying enterprises in trade promotion activities, technology access, product development, and international market expansion.
The meeting opened up practical prospects for cooperation, contributing to promoting the value of Vietnamese agarwood, enhancing trade between the two countries, and step-by-step elevating the position of the Vietnamese agarwood industry in the international market.
