Vietnamese agarwood enterprises struggle due to the “bottleneck” of scientific identification: Risk of losing a billion-dollar market

A series of Vietnamese agarwood enterprises are facing the risk of export stagnation, returned shipments, or prolonged customs clearance procedures due to a technical "bottleneck": the scientific name Aquilaria crassna is not fully and clearly reflected in some international data systems related to the CITES Convention. Behind the stalled dossiers are significant economic losses, the risk of losing markets, and a long story about the journey to protect the brand of Vietnamese agarwood genetic resources on the international map.

“Agarwood Loss” in Aquilaria Trees: Why Does Agarwood Form and Then Disappear?

AGARVINA Việt Nam được thành lập năm 2013 sau hơn 25 năm nghiên cứu phương pháp trồng cây Dó Bầu tạo Trầm, với khát vọng đưa trầm hương Việt Nam vươn ra thị trường thế giới. Hiện doanh nghiệp sở hữu hơn 1.100 ha vùng nguyên liệu, trên 2 triệu cây Dó Bầu, trong đó gần 1 triệu cây đã tạo trầm thành công, trở thành một trong những đơn vị tiên phong trong lĩnh vực trồng, sản xuất và chế biến trầm hương tại Việt Nam. AGARVINA xây dựng hệ thống nhà xưởng tại nhiều tỉnh Nam Trung Bộ, phát triển mạng lưới giới thiệu sản phẩm trong và ngoài nước, đồng thời tích cực tham gia các hội chợ, hội thảo quốc tế để quảng bá giá trị trầm hương Việt Nam, từng bước mở rộng hợp tác toàn cầu.
